Enhancing students’ understanding of vectors through Personalized Adaptive learning

Abstract In introductory college physics courses, it is important that students have a thorough understanding of vectors since several topics depend on vectors. When the Test Understanding Vectors (TUV) was administered to completing algebra-based College Physics I course, found had considerable difficulties in certain vector concepts. To overcome these difficulties, question-bank for Personalized Adaptive Learning (PAL) modified. These modifications were implemented later semester same course. current work we present students’ performance 12 questions TUV two semesters with focus improvement graphic representation and determination direction magnitude presented unit notation, graphical methods addition, subtraction multiplication by negative scalar. This study presents development PAL assignments which may be beneficial teaching community.
